The Royal Orient is rated among the world's most lavish and luxurious trains. Developed on the lines of famous Palace On wheels, it was started as a joint effort between the Tourist Corporation of Gujarat Limited and the Indian railways during 1994-95.
The blue color train has 13 coaches, well equipped with all modern facilities comparable to best of the 5 star hotels. All the 13 coaches represent the 13 magnificent periods of history of the regions it covers on its way. The cabins are neat and clean, comfortable and colorfully decorated with baths and showers attached to them.
There are two multicuisine restaurant cars attached with the train, which serve you Indian, continental, Chinese as well as traditional Rajasthani and Gujarati cuisine.
The facility of a well stocked bar car with 'watering hole' having Indian and International brands of wine is also available at your disposal to cater for your drinking needs.
A comfortable lounge is attached at the end of each saloon. Here passengers can relax, enjoy music of their choice, read journals and magazines and interact with fellow travelers. The lounge is also fitted with TV & VCR. The lounge provides you a beautiful view of countryside during the daytime travel.
